AYAdoodles

At the heart of the winery, where wine ages, Nedko Solakov unfolds his “doodles” – tiny figures and stories inhabiting countless spots in the hall – filled with humor, inventiveness, and warmth, they expand the viewer’s imagination and transform the space into a fairytale world. Some stories reveal themselves instantly, while others await the patient eye to discover them. Fun fact: Nedko hasn’t had alcohol since 1982, but has never lost his sense of humor.

Quite consciously, I don’t think about what should happen, or what is going to happen. I simply give myself over to the architecture, and I try as much as possible to draw out the chances for the viewers to discover an additional layer within it — these little stories. The emotions come from the fact that I move through this space, and at some point I decide, completely intuitively, that right here is exactly where I need to do something.
