Varieties: 49% Merlot, 26% Broad-leaf Melnik Vine, 17% Early Melnik Vine, 8% Sangiovese
Terroir: The vineyards are located in the villages of Harsovo and Kromidovo, in the Melnik region, with heavy, reddish-brown soils rich in iron. The vines are young, except for the Wide Melnik Vine plots, which are about 50 years old. The Wide Melnik Vine is an endemic variety of the Sandanski region. The climate is characterized by high daytime temperatures and cool evening air currents descending from the surrounding mountains. Biodynamic practices are used in the vineyards.
Wine: Hand harvested for each variety separately. Several days of maceration before and after fermentation. Fermentation takes place in separate containers at around 24°C for 7-10 days. Part of the wine has contact with oak. Blending follows.
