Colorito Syrah
Tasting notes from the sommelier

“Intense purple color. The nose is elegant, multi-layered, with notes of small dark berries. One can detect blackberries, a light mocha accent, dark cherries and well-integrated vanilla. The body is firm and full, well-balanced, with a lot of length and aging potential.”

Varieties: 100% Syrah

Terroir: The vineyards are located in the land of the village of Harsovo, Melnik region and were planted in 2016 on a predominantly south-facing terrain. The soils have a low humus content with the light yellow color specific to Melnik. The climate is warm with large diurnal amplitudes thanks to air currents descending from the surrounding mountains and coming from the Aegean Sea along the Struma River valley. The Mediterranean influence is also a prerequisite for the minimum rainfall in August and maximum after harvest (October-November). The vines are grown organically following biodynamic practices, with the aim of stimulating healthy and deep root system growth. Work in the vineyards is exclusively manual, which allows for strict monitoring and quality control.

Wine: The entirely manual grape harvesting took place on September 6th. After 3 days of cold maceration, alcoholic fermentation takes place for a longer period of time in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation. After that the wine matures in French oak barrels for a period of one year. When the desired characteristics are reached, the wine is blended and bottled.
