Colorito Sangiovese, Early Melnik Vine
Tasting notes from the sommelier

“A dense and opaque purple color. A complex nose with notes of raspberry, dark cherry, blue plum, tomato leaf, and spices. A fresh body with elegant tannins, a flavor accentuating dark stone fruits, followed by a piquant tone. A memorable aftertaste. Ready for consumption now, but it also possesses excellent potential for development in the bottle.”

Vines are grown organically and farmed along biodynamic principles. Robust sweetness and spilling with juice. A touch of radish! Super-gouleyant. Sour cherries and so, so much red-blue berry fruit. Satisfyingly chewy tannins. This has so much character! Minty finish.

VARIETIES: 62% Sangiovese; 38% Early Melnik Vine.

TERROIR: The vineyards are located in the lands of the village of Harsovo, where the soils are sandy and permeable. High daytime temperatures alternate with cool evening currents descending from the surrounding mountains. The Broad Melnik Vine is over 35 years old.

Biodynamic practices are applied in the vineyards.

WINE: Hand-harvested grapes for each variety separately. Maceration lasts approximately 2-3 days before and after fermentation. Part of the wine ages in new and used French oak barrels, while the rest matures in stainless steel containers. Blending follows. Limited edition of 3,460 bottles.
