The indigenous Melnik grapes, also known as Broad- Leaved Melnik, flourish in a small southwestern corner of Bulgaria and it is known that during Medieval time the wine was a commodity of exchange between the Venetian Doges and the local merchants of the region. A delicious and fruity wine with ruby red colour and delicate aromas of sour cherry with a hint of tobacco. Elegant structure, fine tannins and a beautiful herbal and peppery taste, typical for the variety.
